The fact that <strong>almost 50% of the world’s population is in need of some kind of eye corrective treatment like surgery, lenses, glasses, e</strong>tc. only accentuates this point.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>The human eye is basically made up of three layers</strong>. The outermost layer consists of the cornea and the sclera. The middle layer is composed of the iris, the choroid and the ciliary body while the innermost layer is made up of the retina. Eye disorders can be related to any of these layers. The scleritis, for example, is the painful inflammation of the sclera; keratisis is the inflammation of the cornea while iritis, as the name suggests, is its counterpart in the iris. A very common eye disorder observed in aging men and women is the cataract. Cataract occurs when the lens of the eye turns opaque.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><span id="more-1394"></span>Nowadays, <strong>cataract can be easily treated with a laser surgery</strong> which besides being a bloodless surgery is also affordable and quick. Eye irritation is another eye problem experienced by people of all ages. It can be easily precluded if one is aware of the common eye irritants. Mostly personal causes like the use of make-up, lenses and certain medication are the cause of irritation in the eye. Other common disorders of the eye are lazy eye, color blindness, blind eye, night blindness and complete blindness.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;">In the present era, visual aid is cheaply and easily available. However, regular use of visual aid like glasses only deteriorates our vision instead of improving it. This also explains the reason behind people with glasses changing their number frequently. Certain simple eye care tips, if followed, can work wonders and prevent the need of any corrective treatment. Washing one’s eyes regularly is one such measure. A proper diet which includes carrots, spinach, papaya, mangoes and other fruits &amp; vegetables rich in carotene can provide enough protection for the eye. It is a well known fact that drinking water in large quantities prevents puffiness around the eyes. Besides, <strong>drinking water has various other advantages</strong> like healthy skin and a healthy stomach. Other methods of protecting one’s eyes from damage include, wearing sun-glasses, avoiding excessive rubbing and performing eye exercises.</span></p>

A wholesome diet does not necessarily mean stuffing oneself with food. A wholesome diet refers to balanced intake of food which includes proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and fats, all in a proportionate quantity.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Various health problems have been known to be related to diet</strong>, iron deficiency anemia, obesity, tooth decay, intestinal symptoms, coronary heart disorders and high blood pressure to name a few. Amongst these, iron anemia, blood pressure and intestinal symptoms occur due to deficiency of certain nutrients while obesity, tooth decay and coronary heart disorders are caused by consumption of improper food, mostly saturated fats.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><span id="more-1389"></span>A healthy diet should include a balanced consumption of all the four major food groups i.e.</strong></span></p>
<ol style="text-align: justify;">
<li><span style="color: #000000;">Milk Products – milk, curd, cream, cheese</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">Grains &#8211; rice, wheat, whole wheat bread, cereals, oatmeal</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">Vegetables/Fruits – these may be consumed in solid form or as juices</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">Meat – egg, chicken, fish (red meat should be avoided due to its high cholesterol content)</span></li>
</ol>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;">For vegetarians there is an alternative option available J</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;">A diet rich in all the above mentioned food items can be called wholesome and healthy. A balance between all nutrients if maintained helps us fight diseases and keeps us well satiated. <strong>Milk products and pulses are a good source of protein</strong>. Milk products also provide calcium which is highly recommended for middle aged women as it helps them fight osteoporosis. Green vegetables should be consumed in salad form. They are a rich source of vitamins and minerals. Potato provides carbohydrates to the body and is an instant source of energy. Fats in the form of oils should be consumed in a minimum quantity. <strong>Adequate amount of iron</strong> should be included in your diet to prevent anemia. Cereals, beans, sweet potato and spinach are a good source of iron.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;">Besides including the above items in one’s diet, the amount and proportions of food should also be watched. Avoid skipping meals. In fact some experts believe that one should consume four to five meals a days, all in small quantities. The excessive intake of salt and pure sugar should be minimized. Salt increases blood pressure while sugars cause tooth decay and cholesterol. Consuming water in adequate amount is also necessary to maintain minerals an electrolytic balance in your body.</span></p>

This concept is known as calorie balance. Go to any gym the personal trainer or fitness expert or a dietitian; will definitely ask you to follow this golden rule. This rule is universally applicable whether it is kids weight loss or a weight loss scheme for adult.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">As both of them follow the same rule so do there processes are also same…? Answer for this question is no. Kids weight loss scheme is different from that of adult scheme.  There are some important measures that need to be taken care in kids weight loss scheme.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>First of all we will consider nutrition</strong>. As young people are in their growing stage, so they need complete nutrition for their normal growth. We cannot starve a kid’s body in terms of calories just to reduce the weight. It may hamper his\her normal growth. Fad diet may be unhealthy for adults but harmful for kids.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><span id="more-1385"></span>As our main goal is <strong>kids weight loss</strong> but we cannot ignore the amount of nutrient required by that kid as he is his growing stage. This requirement of nutrition is not same in case of an adlt and a kid.. For instance, a kid requires more amount of carbohydrates than an adult. An old male requires less amount of calcium than a young female. List of such instances goes on and on. An adult can normally loose their weight by swimming and physical exercise.  But for a kid weight loss it is necessary to have a trained and qualified weight loss coach or a dietician. All the nutrient requirements of kid should be met when the calories are restricted for that kid and the negative calorie balance should also be maintained during the course.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Secondly we consider exercise</strong>. The type and intensity of exercise given to an adult is not same as that of kid. Coach need to give more precise exercise to kids which do not put too much pressure on them. A young kid should not be subjected to long training session otherwise he\she burn out both physically and mentally.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">So the way their parents loose weight is not the same way kids loose weight. Kids weight loss should be done in such a way that nutritional content should be maintained. So in all kids weight loss is a tricky and complex program which should be done carefully.</span></p>

These are just those eating habits they must have learned from their parents.</span></p>

And what happens after that is that we share the same eating habits with our kids. Let’s have a look at some of the commonly found eating habits which almost every parent tells their child to follow. And also let’s try to correct them.</span></p>

What happens due to this is that we get really very hungry by the dinner time and just eat what comes through without keeping in mind the quantity in which we are eating. This eating habit leads to weight gain and also we become more stressful.</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">Don’t drink too much of any type of drink. It will make you not eat your food properly. But, in contrast, our parents are making us eat more. Again!</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">If you want a desert, finish all the food you have got. The reality as it happens is: The reward for filling your stomach fully is sugar! On the other hand, one should be taught to eat smaller portions of food at a time.</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">When in hurry, just have a bit and set off. We understand that we are usually in a hurry in the morning, but don’t make that the reason for not having a proper and a good breakfast. A healthy breakfast is of utter importance. What we can do is prepare a raw breakfast in the preceding night and just warm or cook it in the morning, but we have to make sure is having a good breakfast.</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">Hurry up when you are eating and finish it up fast! But, obviously this is also a bad idea. Eat slowly. It will make your mind and send the right signal to you when to stop eating, when you are full.</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #000000;">Finish all what you have in your plate! Instead we should tell them to stop when they feel full.</span></li>
