A friend is someone who understands you, cares for you, trusts you, lifts you when you are down and is there for you anytime and every time. Life will become dull without friends. A friendship can be at any of the following levels:

  1. Strangers: it is when two people hardly know each other but show pleasing gestures when you meet each other accidently while going somewhere. Say for example, you board the bus for your office from a bus-stop and you happen to see an old lady there daily. You two might not know anything about each other but still share smiles.

We become familiar with them by visiting their place or by through some familial relation but we do not have much information about them. There is not much intimacy associated with them.

  2. Intimate relationship: the time when we are ready to fully commit ourselves to one person, this relationship sets in. This person means a lot to us and we reveal all our inner secrets, desires and everything that we might not have shared with anybody. Also, we’ll render him selfless service, take pleasure in taking care of his needs, sharing his pains and joys, doing whatever makes him happy and a whole lot of things which are very precious to our relationship.
  3. Marriage: it is the final stage of any relationship but the most important one. At this point also, we have to keep on nurturing the same friendship that we earlier had; else it may reach a dead end.
