Longevity Clinics – Pros & Cons
Longevity does not necessarily refer to living a longer life. One may live a hundred years but are they any good if you’ve spent your last years suffering with sleep
disorders, wrinkled skin, reduced muscle and bone mass, hearing impairment and visual disability ? These are exactly the kind of troubles longevity clinics offer to save you from.
Even though the name suggests that these are clinics, they are in fact more like recreational homes which mostly work on annual membership basis. Members are endowed with facilities such as medical help from their in-house doctors, personal trainers, personalized diet charts and even cosmetic help if need be. Other than this, longevity clinics also offer expert advice in the form of personal counseling sessions. Seminars are held on a regular basis to encourage, enlighten and rejuvenate members. Also, members are educated on prevention and treatment of chronic ailments such as cancer and cardiovascular disorders.
Medical aid provided at longevity clinics usually comprises of doctor prescribed hormonal and nutritional supplements which aid in various age related problems.
Such longevity clinics usually advertise about their expertise in reducing wrinkles, ameliorating flexibility of muscles and bones, better vision, better memory, a satiated sleep cycle, diminished aches, higher tolerance of stress, improved skin and hair, reduced body fat and above all better immunity to diseases. Even though their claims might not be entirely true, they do offer much more personalized service to people looking for anti-aging programs than a normal clinic. Mostly such longevity clinics are run by physicians and medical consultants who themselves seek a better aging process and want to not only share their experience but also help people celebrate their old age, not just endure it.
As they say everything has its pros and cons. The cons of these longevity clinics may not be that many in number, but they are surely not meant to be ignored. Firstly, as longevity clinics mostly work on an annual membership basis, they are usually not affordable by the common man. They are said to be one of the many whims and fancies of the rich. A good longevity clinic can make you poorer by anything between 1000-8000 dollars per annum. Secondly, and more importantly, longevity clinics often promote the use of hormonal supplements which you maybe allergic to or may cause more harm than good if taken in an inappropriate amount. Also, longevity clinics offer cosmetic surgery as an option to hide the effects of aging. This similar to supplements may cause more harm than good. Exception to these supplements is Resveratol, know more here Natural Longevity Clinics.
