A woman who suddenly finds a lump in her breast will surely think of having symptom of breast cancer. But simply having a lump in breast not necessarily means that the women got breast cancer because the benign lumps are quite normal in women breast. In fact 80% cases of finding a lump during self examination are not the cases of r breast cancer. Some of these benign lumps can show the similar symptoms as that of a cancerous lump because they to displace the tissues and change the shape of your breast, but it do not mean that they are cancerous lump. So along with these symptoms of lump certain others are there too in the tissues, skin or nipples of your breast.

These can be any one of the following:-

An area fells differ from the rest of breast although it is not a lump

Change in shape along with size of breast

Puckering of breast skin

Reddening of breast skin without any reason

Bloody discharge from nipples

Flaking skin of the nipples

Change in nipples appearance and it is pointing in a direction other than before

Pain in breast without any reason

The most important thing that has to take care is that how your breast feels normally as it will make the comparison easy. Breasts are not the flat or smooth. They do contain lumps naturally. Actually the breasts have bumps, rope and lumps type structure within them. These are basically in the top and the area near the armpit. The inside and bottom are smother. Also during the hormonal changes that take place there during the woman’s period also affect the shape and how breast feel on your fingers and hands. Also there is some difference that creeps due to age. Older women will have fatty breast as compared to the younger woman because they have more fatty tissues than the glandular lump one in their breasts. So while checking for the symptoms of the breast cancer bear in mind the feel of different areas of your breast and compare them with the ongoing feel to find what the difference is or what’s new there.

If you find that something is there in one of the breast than do not panic and feel the same part of the other breast too. If they resembles than it is perfectly all right.
