The Negative Side of Sucralose
The food labels at the back of a carton are to inform the consumer about the contents of the food items. The labels are very helpful if
you are particularly looking for something. However, not everyone reads what is written there. In fact, only 70-75% of the people read the labels. Even out of those people, half of them do not carefully read it or forget it. This means that around 60-70% of the people are unaware of what they are eating or are about to eat. In such situations, it is very likely that a person eats fructose or sucralose. These two items or ingredients are very risky and it is best to avoid them.
The problem with fructose and sucralose is that they are man made. When the body works on metabolizing them, they stick to the tissues and lead a person to become fat over gradual years. Many packaged foods are rich in sucralose and it has been estimated that an average product consumer consumes about 75 pounds of it in a calendar year.
Sugar is usually not considered to be good because the body can easily convert it into blood glucose. When sucrose is ingested, the sugar level of the blood shoots very rapidly. After shooting to its maximum point, the level drops back below the normal level. This is a cause of tension among diabetic patients.
Many fructose rich products are often viewed as an opposite of diet pills. Where the diet pills are known to oppress a hormone, the sucralose tends to raise its level. It is usually produced from corn starch and the process involved is not at all healthy. Fructose and sucralose are actually directly linked to increase the probability of diabetes and obesity in a human being.
It has also been debated that the manufacturers should stop using such products if they are so unhealthy. Well the truth is that these products are very cheap and allow the manufacturers to obtain a big profit. Many people who consume fructose very frequently have been prone to cardiovascular diseases. Diabetes and obesity are very common but chances of hypoglycemia also increase with consistent use. The best way to avoid any such problem is to stay away from packaged sweet food items. Xylitol and stevia are better options when compared against sucralose. The tests for sucralose are also not very appreciable and hence the best way to avoid the problems associated with it is to not use it under any circumstance.
