There is usually a direct link between sun exposure and the skin cancer. It is frequently found on the areas which remains exposed to direst sun light for long hours. However it may creep on the body pert which is not exposed to sun also. For this frequent check of the body skin should be done in order to know the status. The skin cancer is usually of three types’ melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma. Skin cancer can develop on neck, face, hands, legs, lips, nose, between toes and anywhere in the body because the skin is the outermost part of the body which covers it completely. People of all skin tones can be affected by this and it develops slowly and appears suddenly.

The most common skin cancer is the basal cell carcinoma. This is also the most easy to treat. This is named so because it appears in the basal cells in the skin epidermis. It typically appears as the waxy bump or a flat lesion.

Squamous cell carcinoma is the second type and have a ten dandy to spread but can be controlled in the early stage. It is named so because it appears in the squamous cell of the skin epidermis. It appears as red bump on the skin or as flat lesion along with scaly surface.

Melanoma is the type of cancer that accounts the most number of deaths due to skin cancer. It may develop on the skin or make the existing mole cancerous called as the mole skin cancer. It is named so because it appears in the melanocyte cells in the skin epidermis. It appears as the spot on the skin with irregular color. It may also cause mole to change color or mole to bleed as well. It may also be there in the inner side of the mouth or nose especially in the mucous membrane. People with fair skin tone have higher risk of getting this type of skin cancer because the cell melanocyte provides the color to skin. If you have sunburns in the childhood, there are greater chances of getting this type of skin cancer as an adult. Also the person who works in the sun light for long time or skin tanning increases the skin cancer risk of this type.

Treatment for skin cancer is effective and easy if done in early stage of the cancer. In this case it may be removed under local anesthesia at doctor’s clinic.
