Proper Eating Habits – A Must for Healthy Living
People generally develop poor eating habits, making them gain weight, also making difficult to lose it. These habits generally come from our parents. Although they
have good interests in telling us what to do but our parents are the first ones who start telling us the eating habits to be followed. These are just those eating habits they must have learned from their parents.
As time passes, these habits start becoming how we will always eat food for the coming years of our life. And what happens after that is that we share the same eating habits with our kids. Let’s have a look at some of the commonly found eating habits which almost every parent tells their child to follow. And also let’s try to correct them.

Parents usually say like this:
- Don’t have too much at this time, save some space for dinner. We think they are right. But actually they aren’t. What happens due to this is that we get really very hungry by the dinner time and just eat what comes through without keeping in mind the quantity in which we are eating. This eating habit leads to weight gain and also we become more stressful.
- Don’t drink too much of any type of drink. It will make you not eat your food properly. But, in contrast, our parents are making us eat more. Again!
- If you want a desert, finish all the food you have got. The reality as it happens is: The reward for filling your stomach fully is sugar! On the other hand, one should be taught to eat smaller portions of food at a time.
- When in hurry, just have a bit and set off. We understand that we are usually in a hurry in the morning, but don’t make that the reason for not having a proper and a good breakfast. A healthy breakfast is of utter importance. What we can do is prepare a raw breakfast in the preceding night and just warm or cook it in the morning, but we have to make sure is having a good breakfast.
- Hurry up when you are eating and finish it up fast! But, obviously this is also a bad idea. Eat slowly. It will make your mind and send the right signal to you when to stop eating, when you are full.
- Finish all what you have in your plate! Instead we should tell them to stop when they feel full.
